Pioneer, a Japanese corporation, one of the leader of consumer electronic markets, is well known by consumers all around the globe for its quality products. Here at plasmatv.com we can safely say that plasma tv sets are no exception: the Kuro series of plasma TV has already received many awards and achievements for the indisputable and probably unmatched quality of the product.
The name of the series, KURO, which means "black" in Japanese, underlines the particular focus of Pioneer over black and its depth. Pioneer wants to reach levels of black that has never been reached before, offering a level 80% higher than other competitors in the market. Better black levels mean a better definition of images and better colors and when it comes to plasma TV is safe to say that black is everything. What Pioneer wants to offer to its customers is a great definition for movies in High Definition as well as DVDs and tv show broadcast in High Definition quality.
KURO has won the Europe Imaging and Sound Association 2008-2009 award for the best product of the year, an award that once again points out the outstanding characteristic of this piece of art produced by the Japanese manufacturer.
KURO offers a wide array of products, different in shape, size and feature, but all sharing the top quality of materials and screen quality. KURO is commercialized in 32'', 37'', 42'', 50'' and 60'' inches screen sizes, giving any kind of customer the chance to enjoy this technology.
The PDP-LX6090, the product that has won the EISA 2008 Award, is a 60'' inches plasma TV, a screen that is just 93mm thin and that is ready for every kind of applications: it is able to reproduce Blu-Ray and DVDs and it integrates a decoder for Digital TV, so that there will be no need to buy a separate device and occupy more space on our tv console. The PDP-LX6090 features teletext capabilities, support for 39 languages, it includes HDMI support and, more important, it is Full High Definition ready, supporting up to 1080p. The resolution offered by this television set is 1,920x1080, the best available on the market, which, together with the unmatched quality of black, makes this TV set one of the best available on the market.
But the PDP-LX6090 is not the only product manufactured by Pioneer. The Japanese company produces, manufactures, and sells the PDP-LX508D, with a screen diagonal of 50'' (127cm), including unbelievable audio performances, supporting SRS (Surround), SRS Focus (Directional Surround) and True Bass technology to boost bass of your favorite movies.
This unbelievable TV set comes to a price. Top-tiers television sets, it's almost useless to say, require top-tier prices. The Pioneer Kuro series are among the most expensive tv sets for the consumer market and the price range is what decreted the dead of this series of television sets. Pioneer Kuro has been discontinued since 2009 and the tv division of the Japanese corporation has been recently acquired by Panasonic, which will continue to produce high quality television sets for the most demanding customers.
